The Yale-NUS Club aims to strengthen the bonds of the Yale-NUS community, to enrich their lives by fostering meaningful connections amongst them, to embody the values promoted by Yale-NUS, to encourage them to use their talents for positive impact in the local community, and to elevate awareness of a liberal arts education.
Our History
In 2023, we put out a call to our community to join an alumni task force that would help envision the future of our alumni community post-2025. Over the first half of that year, an incredible team of alumni as well as current and former staff and faculty worked together to discuss key issues such as mission and vision, data management, and fundraising. This culminated in our pillar documents, which are publicly available and can be read here.
During Reunion 2023, we put forth our key findings to the alumni community, including our draft constitution. We had a 1-month open feedback period, after which we reconvened to finalise our constitution and next steps. This meant clearing our constitution with lawyers and creating plans to formally register the Club in Singapore. You can check out the finalised constitution here.
We then worked with the Yale-NUS New Haven Office to organise elections for the Yale-NUS Club Executive Committee (Exco), a team of alumni who would help take the task force’s work to the next level. The Exco was officially elected in October 2023 after a 2-month nomination and voting period.
Now, here we are, your Yale-NUS Club Exco, and we are excited to work with you to create your alumni club.
